Motor Generator Sets

Jemelec manufactures motor-generator sets, for frequency and voltage conversion, phase conversion and d.c. to a.c. inversion. Standard input and output frequencies are 50Hz, 60Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, 400Hz and d.c.
Output load ratings range from 17 kVA to 10 MVA. A full range of control gear is offered for starting the motors and controlling the generator output. Full function output power metering with digital display is included as standard instrumentation enabling monitoring of many important parameters such as phase voltages and currents, kW and kVA, power factor, harmonic content, hours run, etc. Further option packs are available to expand the standard range and will allow detailed harmonic analyses, etc.
Brush motors and 3 phase squirrel cage motors, with speed control options available for tighter frequency control where required, are offered as standard fitment. The brush motor option allows operation from a single phase input supply, which when coupled to a three phase alternator, will provide a balanced 3 phase output, with little distortion and correct phase angles, line to line voltages and line to neutral voltages, which is not generally possible with alternative solutions at reasonable cost.
